Quick Tips
Below are some tips that just about anyone can use to get into shape if they are physically capable. It's very basic because everyone is different but it is a great place to start... A very detailed program has to be done on an individual basis for each person interested. The information below can get you started but if you'd like me to personally create a fitness plan for your specific goals contact me and I'd be happy to get started working with you.

As always... you should get medical clearance by a doctor before starting any physical fitness regimen.

1. Get your body moving. Try to do some kind of physical activity everyday if you can but at least 4 days out of your week. You don’t always have to think of it as exercise. Just think of it as a way to get your body moving in some fun way. It can be dance, yardwork, hiking, a nature walk, a swim, basketball, rugby, cycling, even housework if you do it vigorously enough. And it doesn’t have to be the same thing each day. To make is easier I'd recommend that you pick a certain time everyday to fit in some kind of physical activity. It makes it easier because your body will be able to jump into action better at your scheduled time. For example, I do my weight training at 6:15am Monday, Wednesday and Friday. When my alarm clock goes off I jump out of bed with excitement lol.

2. Enjoy yourself. Whatever activity you choose, it has to be fun. If you don’t like it, move on to something else. Focus on the fun part, not the hard part. Or learn, as I have, to enjoy the hard stuff! Again, make it fun, or you won’t keep it up for very long. To make sure it’s not too hard, start easy. Focus on just getting moving and enjoying the activity. Start small, and build up with baby steps.

3. Slowly add intensity. Every workout you should be better than the last. You should be able to do more than the last time. If you are not able to do more or you end up doing less... You haven't let your body fully recover enough.

4. Minimal equipment. There are a million different exercise gadgets out there, from ab machines to elliptical trainers to a whole slew of weight machines at the gym. My rule is: keep it simple. You could get a great workout without any gym equipment at all if you wanted.

5. Just a few exercises. Bodybuilding routines will have you doing 3-4 different exercises per body part. That’s too complicated for most people. Keep it simple in the weight room. You want to stimulate your body so it can adapt safely... not wreck it with over training wich slows down progress.

6. Eat Better. The saying you are what you eat can make sense in a way. If you put bad stuff into your body your going to produce bad unhealthy cells. You'll end up gaining more body fat and weaken your immune system. If you put good healthy stuff into your body you build healthier cells and can burn fat easier.

7. Follow a proper nutrition plan. Since no two people are exactly the same, for every goal and every person there should be a unique nutrition plan they should follow.

8. Give it time. This is what gets many people — they expect to see results immediately which just is not how it works. If you stick with a well built fitness plan you will eventually start to see amazing results. Although it will not happen over night... it will happen if you stick with it. I know this because I've been there and I help others get there ;)
